Our Story
Starting in Chicago in 2023, Kenny Moll set out on the challenge of running a marathon everyday for a week to raise money and awareness about the climate crisis and its global ramifications. Highlighting the urgency of the crisis, Kenny was forced to refrain from running 2 days due to fatally dangerous air quality caused by record breaking wildfire smoke. The same smoke that turned New York City skies orange migrated to the midwest, and made exercising in Chicago air a possible cause of long term health effects. This was a prime example of the threat of the climate crisis on our ability to move outdoors. The silver lining was that it galvanized people to want to take action for a healthy planet, and the project gained momentum.

A Week for the World has grown and evolved since 2023. Beginning in 2024, it has taken place in New York City’s Central Park, and important additions to the project we made. Since 2024, A Week for the World has been focused around the daily panel of speakers including notable activists and organizations taking action for our climate and teaching our participants how to get involved. Since 2024, hundreds of people have moved with us and mobilized to advocate for interconnected climate, political and societal issues.
A Week for the World 2025
After A Week for the World 2025, the team began to have conversations about a different take on the endurance event. The conversation led us to organize The Movement as a response to the issues perpetuated by Trump’s second presidency. 10 runners decided to partake in a moving protest, representing personal causes affected by the authoritarian government. The team ran from NYC all the way to Washington DC to mobilize the public through movement. Over the course of 275 miles, we partnered with local community organizations to stand up for the communities most affected by injustice.
The Movement 2025
After the run to DC, the team realized the power of using movement to fight for positive change. While we faced speedbumps and tough decisions, “The Movement” was a beautiful showcase that we can only move forward if we work together. In the world at large, we are facing the awful reality of climate change, social injustice and harms perpetrated by our corrupt political system. As movers, we don’t have the choice to “just ignore” how these injustices affect our environment and our neighbors. This is why we’ve decided to create Global Endurance Collective, because we can choose to fight back in the way we know how: moving together.
Together, we have raised tens of thousands of dollars for climate justice organizations like Sunrise Movement, and have highlighted the innate duty of all movers to advocate for climate justice. With the help of an engaged volunteer community and brand supporters we continue to provide a safe and welcoming environment for runners, meet nutritional and hydration needs, and encourage everyone to be civically engaged. Most importantly, our endurance projects allow us to take action the way we love.
We want GECo to provide everyday people the ability to take action.
We believe we can positively impact the world by building a collective of movers united in protecting the planet and acting in solidarity with people affected by injustice.
We want everyone to have the ability to move freely outdoors.
We believe nobody should fear for their life when moving outside because of war, pollution, hate, or inaccessibility. We believe everyone can have a dignified life and access to the outdoors with the resources currently available.
We want clean water, food, air, and cities for all people.
We believe clean water, food, and air are human rights that can be delivered to people around the globe with the resources available today.
